How Elysian Came to Be
Elysian Psychological Services was started by Dr. Cari Oliver who has worked extensively with those who suffer from PTSD and other complex traumas through the Veterans Affairs. She built her own private practice after noticing the ever-increasing demand for quality care for those with mental health conditions including complex trauma, personality difficulties and disorders, substance use, relationship difficulties, depression, and anxiety.
Although several platforms were becoming available that made receiving mental health assistance increasingly accessible, there was a noticeable gap in the level of consistent quality being offered. This is when she began to expand Elysian into the online behavioral health therapy platform it is today. By creating a devoted collective of licensed clinical psychologists, all of whom are doctors in the mental health field, and whose empathy directly matches their level of expertise, Elysian now services Virginia and the D.C. Corridor through virtual evidence-based treatment methods that are tailored to the needs and experiences of our clients.
